Winter storms & warming solutions

It's has been a harsh autumn weather wise this year, yet another series of 100 year storms have ravaged the UK, a soggy end to 2013 and the wettest Jan & Feb in 250 years.

To make matters worse, I was in Ecuador from September until Christmas & so the hex has been unattended, at the mercy of the rain & wind which have left half the country flooded for months on end.
So... How did she survive?
Not bad. The windward (front) tarp blew off, as expected after over 100 days of unattended storm lashing, and so the interior was soggy- as you can see the bowls left out had filled with water. Amazingly so had the cafetiere through its spout!

I took everything out dried it & replaced the tarp. Job done.
